"I don't think I've ever seen a kid as cool as you, Kenny."

-Jimbo Kern

Foul mouthed, immature, perverted, optimistic, and open minded are all simple ways of describing Kenny McCormick but then- we're up to 17 seasons now and a lot's happened. He's gone a long way from that death gag character no one could understand. Infact, all those high pitched words mumbled from behind a parka hood have always been that- words, it was just hard to hear what he was saying.

Well- most of the time it's dirty/perverted, but that's just what type of kid he is. He's that kid in any group of friends that isn't afraid of making a well timed vagina joke, or comment about a woman's rocking rack, and at the same time knows enough about the subject that he can answer when his friend asks him about what a dildo is. Kenny's got a weakness for ladies as can be seen in many situations throughout the series. At one point he takes away from a rather thoughtful letter he writes to his friends just to mention a woman with amazing boobs on a beach nearby where he's visiting with his friend Butters (Season 16- Episode 11: Going Native). The letter really was thoughtful, Kenny's inner monologue is rather... distinguished:

"My dearest friends,

I am living amongst the natives in the remote and tiny island of Hawaii. What can I tell you of this mysterious island and it's people. It is a place of wonder, and yet to the outsider like me, a place of- odd tradition. The people here are peaceful and joyous, and seem to care little for the rush and worry of the outside world.

Their diet it mostly an odd mixture of coconut milk, pineapple juice, and vodka, which they call the 'chichi'.

As for Butters, he is quickly learning the ways of his ancestors, and seems to be feeling better with every passing day. He still seems quite angry at times but luckily his ceremony will finally take place on the 'morrow.

To wit I have found nothing wrong with this remote place, and I must admit it will be with some melancholy that I will leave this island and return home.

I saw this chick in a bikini on the beach too, she had the nicest boobs ever.

Humbly yours,
Kenneth."

To which his friend Stan has to say, "'On the 'morrow,' what the fuck is wrong with Kenny?" Showing that this more intelligent side of Kenny is something that doesn't show through except for in certain instances. Here- in his letter, and another example is in his character 'Mysterion'- Mysterion being a different persona Kenny plays as with his friends when they pretend to be super heroes. In the episodes The Coon, Coon 2: Hindsight, Mysterion Rises, Coon vs. Coon & Friends and The Poor Kid, Mysterion, or rather Kenny, shows a much more calculating, justice enforcing side, with a strong sense of loyalty and herosim. Kenny even shows a more deep weakness he has, his problem with his ability of immortality. He goes as far to shoot himself in the head to make a point to his friends that they won't actually remember when he revives the next day. (Whenever Kenny dies, he revives the next day and for the most part, no one ever remembers he had died at all, as if it never happened. In some cases he does not revive right away which is usually for comedy's sake on the show's creators part.) Though this anger at his ability is shown through his playing of Mysterion, he still shows an amazing sense of heroism. Sometimes it shows through without a mask, like in the episode 'A Nightmare on the Face of Time', where he tells his friends how to ambush a group of vigilantes.

The difficulty with death is something Kenny seems to always have. Early in the series, before they had planned out much character development wise, Kenny's character was used a lot for humourous death situations. But since then it's become more and more a part of his character. He always shows aversion to death and even can be extra cautious sometimes when a situation seems fatal. But he usually goes along with it because that's just his style. Kenny's always been that friend to eat bugs for a dollar, or cut open a manatee with a scalpel in class dissection for five bucks (he'll pretty much do anything for money). But still he has morals. Kenny likes his friends and follows them and plays with them. Just like one can depends on Kyle for finding the moral after an adventure, or depend on Cartman to get offended at something ridiculous, one can depend on Kenny for being there for his friends. In the episodes 'Jewbilee' and 'Going Native' Kenny joins Kyle and Butters respectively during two different trips, despite having nothing to do with where either trip is going or it's purpose. He's just a loyal friend. He shows loyalty to his family as well, in the episode 'The Poor Kid', Kenny saves his sister from a bully and tells her he'll always be there for her.

-Still, he's not afraid to coax a girl to Red Robin after hearing she gave a guy a blow job once for bringing her there (Season 13- Episode 1: The Ring- in that case he dies from getting a STI from her at the end of the episode, revives in the the next though). Kenny's got sex on the mind a lot of the time, he even is shown to have very provocative posters in his bedroom. Though- he doesn't seem to disrespect women purposely like Cartman, and even takes on a female character when they all play 'Game of Thrones' together, playing the role of Lady McCormick, and later becoming Princess Kenny (Season 17- Episodes 7-9). Kenny takes his characters and costumes very very seriously, and seems to really enjoy being someone other than himself. This might be because of his difficult family life with neglectful, abusive, drug addict parents who are extremely poverty stricken... That might have something to do with it.

He seems to be pretty used to it though and deals as he can, knowing he himself can't really change it. So as Mysterion, he manages to scare his parents into caring about their kids more, giving them an allowance, doing drugs less, etc. He does care, he just plays out his feelings through characters. As himself, he shows to be optimistic, tolerant, and playful. Despite being so optimistic, he does seem to just- want to stay dead some of the time. Dying is painful for him every time it happens, and after you die over 50 times well- you get tired of it. Kenny doesn't seem to be a depressed person, but you can only take so much of death.

While he seems to have morals as far as his friends and family is concerned- he still doesn't seem to turn anything down when there's money involved. Cartman uses this a lot against him, things like tossing a dollar bill on the ground to get the shot gun seat in a car away from Kenny. Kenny even ends up giving Howard Stern a hummer for a really small amount of money in the episode 'Fat Camp'. Hm- well I shouldn't really say morals, maybe more- dignity- he tends to lack dignity in a lot of instances, at one point he dies from strangling himself while masturbating when he's told it'll give him an amazing orgasm, and another time spends a good amount of his life getting addicted to a drug that gives him amazing hallucinations. So yeah uh- dignity is a little low, especially when money's involved, or he's getting something sexual or an ultra good high out of it.

His tendency to do anything for money comes from the rather large lack of money in his life. Kenny is usually shown drinking water when the rest of the kids have soda, brings a meager bag lunch to school, and his house is torn apart and rat infested. This still doesn't seem to get him down, but he doesn't turn down a stray dollar or two when he's bet it, showing that he can be rather open minded with the right incentive. A lot of his money he seems to save though, for tickets for a date with a girl, certain toys/games he really wants, intense costumes for roleplaying games with his friends, and even condoms- how very responsible of him. Though the fact that he saves his money shows that he does realize the worth of it and understands the importance of patience.

Over all he really is just a kid, tends to be one of the smarter kids in the show, as well as being a lot more mature than all his sexual jokes and innuendos imply. He can't die, has a hard family life, and makes a lot of poor decisions, but through and through he's just a care free kid wanting the best in life for himself, his family, and his friends.

Powers/Abilities: Most of what he can do isn't so much unusual as it is unusual for a child of 9 to be able to do. So I'll just go ever anything that is rather out of the ordinary for someone of his age as well as his more mystical abilities.

Kenny can speak Japanese, Romanian, and a small bit of Spanish, is rather nimble and appears to know parkour to some degree (as seen when he plays as Mysterion), knows how to use a wide range of weaponry, including shotguns, sniper rifles, grenades, throwing stars, spears, and small single handed guns, and being really super cute to the point of being able to manipulate people- but only when he's playing as his character Princess Kenny (Anime Princess Kenny after he's given a magical anime pendant in the episode A Song of Ass and Fire).

Kenny also has a more mystical ability- the one where he can't die. And not only can't die, but a majority of the time when he does, no one remembers him ever dying at all the next day.

There are some issues with this ability that come down to the creators not having flushed out this much of his character yet in the earlier seasons, but it's been expanded upon in recent seasons.

How this ability works is no matter when he dies, he will always be reborn again by his mother. The baby will grow to whatever age Kenny was when he died in the span of a single night. It hasn't been explained exactly how this works yet, except for that his mother and father at some point went to a lovecraft based cult, and it's believed that ever since then this has been happening to their son, Kenny. He still feels pain from dying, but seems to have a higher tolerance to it from it- well, happening so much. As said earlier, he doesn't even flinch when he himself goes to shoot himself to prove a point in an episode where he plays as his hero persona, Mysterion.

In this game, he will die a lot more than most people will and will not be revived in the same manner as in in canon. Instead, since reviving here already occurs naturally and with downsides, he'll merely go through that. Though, due to high volume of his deaths, the game will eventually realize it is 'normal' for him to get in these situations. After that, his immortality will work more in the sense of immortality as we know it, you don't die when things happen to you. Fall off a building, you're alive. Hit by a car? Fine. Drink acid, nothing happens, and so on. The only problem is it won't always happen. The game now programs death out of his routine from time to time, though it still will occur sometimes. Thus making it so Kenny will once again never know when he'll die. Gets hit by a car, is fine! Ends up getting hit by a car again thinking he'll make it and thus making the gamble, only to actually die that time. He'll suffer less of of the downsides from dying (the same downsides everyone gets after a while), but will still get into deadly situations a lot, and will only die- well, randomly throughout them.

I plan on playing out his deaths as they do in canon, most of the time they'll be for humours sake, but sometimes they'll be more dramatic. Him dying is a rather important part of his character though, so whatever I can to do make this go as smooth as possible. But man, if I want him to die from eating too many antacid tablets and then drinking water after and exploding because it's friggen ridiculous? I'd love to do it. (Season 4- Episode 7: Chef Goes Nanners)

Also, as mentioned earlier, he has the Anime Princess Pendant. This will counter death completely when he IS wearing it. In canon it is shown to immediately revive him upon death, completely reconstructing him instantly. The downside is he'll have to deal with being an Anime Princess while wearing it. Which- is fun sometimes, but as a little boy who still very much sees himself as a boy, wearing it will get old fast. For a while he might wear it and deal out of fear of death, but eventually it'll be something used less often.

Sample: Blue sky.

You'd think before you die, something else would flash before your eyes or something. Some sad mass of memories, your brain flicking through everything to find a way to save you, showing you everything you've ever seen. You've done. Looking through everything and making you have to see it all again, making you fucking view it to find a single moment in your past that could maybe save you. You'd think you'd see something else than just- blue sky before you die.

But maybe not when you know there's nothing else for you. Fuck, right? There's no way he could save himself. Was there ever a way? And did it matter? He's dying again. His body's not growing cold yet, but once that team of freefalling suicidal protesters got ahold of him as a hostage to jump with them, he knew he was dead.

Gluten's just the start they said. He didn't fucking care Kenny said, drone's slowly take over the world for real this next time they said, the government's watching you from inside and out of your skull. You gotta protest this little guy! Our voices must be heard! Heard- yeah?

So freefalling to his death will help the world?

The world is fucked. He's fucked, these people are fucked, and now he's freefalling to his doom, again, and staring at sky.

The wind whips over him but his parka and hood keep most of it from peeling over his skin, from whistling in his ears. He screamed to be let go but like usual no one listened, no one does, he's never actually heard. And now he's falling and he knows he'll hit pavement, paint it, and show up again tomorrow, no one will remember and if they do? They won't care. No life before his eyes, as short as it is, you'd think out every instance in his life that he's gotten into bullshit like this, there'd be some moment that might have a clue of saving him or something but- what's it matter? When you've died and revived as much as he has, all you want to see before you die is blue sky maybe.

Loud, air rushing. His heart's not beating nearly as fast as it should for a kid freefalling to his death, calmer than the rest of the protesters, some who are just now realizing how twistedly stupid they were for taking part in this. Clouds pass, everything seems slow as it gets further from him. The plane smaller and smaller. A bird or two, the others that jumped out following him, staying the same size. Just that droning wind, and tree tops and the sound of wilderness and cars not far by and-

Splat.

Mindset: Kenny takes it easier than most people would. He remembers everything about his death, hell- about every death. And he knows this isn't hell because he's been there, or heaven, because he's been there. It's not a dream, it's not some lovecraftian otherworld, he knows how they all go. It's just another fucked up place he's in but is like- a video game? Cool, he likes video games.

G̶̶l̨͡i̵͢t̷c͝͠h̕é͠s̷̷͡: Kenny dies constantly and while he's become extremely jaded to the idea, he still shows fear and panic for dying. He also doesn't enjoy it, and while his threshold for pain has gotten high, he hates pain a lot. He's weak to addiction, hedonistic, a kid in maturity and yet not. While having a the morals of a child and the understanding of most things like one, his views of the world are a lot different due to the whole- not dying/constantly dying issue he's had.

He also hates having no money and being poor, stripped of the things he likes and loves. It extends to the point where he's willing to heavily degrade himself in order to make money and/or get something he wants.

Is a protective person to his friends and those he views as family, which can work as weaknesses to him.

He has terrible luck in general for getting into bad situations, most which lead to dying or getting maimed in some manner.

Ssssoooooo-

This permissions post exists because Kenny is indeed- 9 years old- despite the show being 18 seasons long by now and them being only like- a year younger than that when the whole show started. So I'm making this just to make sure people are cool with a 9 year old potentially:

Hitting on them.
Making perverted jokes.
Making perverted jokes at their expense.
Being a kid with just a super dirty mouth.
Openly accepting disgusting an/or sexual favors if currency of some degree is involved.
Having no real filter in general.

Also, on account of Kenny's problems in his canon, making sure people are okay with:

Being around when Kenny is severely wounded.
Being around when he dies.
Being all right with descriptive explanations of his deaths.

Kenny dies a lot in the series and I plan to have him die in game here and there too. His deaths are meant to be comical though- for the most part. If you have a difficult time with death being funny, let me know and it won't happen around you. Just want to make sure people are comfortable with it since it's a rather important part of his character.

I will be tagging any posts or logs I put up with him dying. This post here though is mostly for threads you might have with him. If there's a time where him dying while he's talking to your character or hanging out with them is funny, I'll probably take it. So just let me know if you'd rather me not.

SIDE NOTE: I feel like a lot of people don't necessarily know enough about his canon these days to properly get a feel for his muse so I just want to say a few things.

Kenny's is a lot different from those older seasons of South Park. The show has changed a lot in recent years and there's a lot more character development now. He's no longer just a death gag character. He dies, but not nearly as frequently, and when he does die, it's usually for humour's sake, or to make a plot point. Otherwise he is just a kid with a kid's interests at that age, and really hates how much he dies. He has a lot of difficulty with it and tends to be really serious about it when the time comes to be.

If your character is a kid and you're worried about him being too much for them, just remember he is a kid too, and still loves roleplaying in outfits, and boardgames, and toys, just as much as the next kid. The death thing he actually tries to avoid and isn't at all used to people caring about. He could probably use a few people in his life that actually give a damn about him dying so often.

ANNNDD OCC

I'm open to literally everything. All I ask is that if you kill him, lemme know beforehand. Otherwise? Death. backtagging, threadjacking, fourth walling, do it all.
